UMI’s Autocross Challenge: A Weekend of Speed, Skill, and Community

UMI’s Autocross Challenge is the event that started it all — our oldest and most sought-after competition. Every year, this weekend brings together a diverse group of drivers and cars for a thrilling blend of competitive racing and community engagement at UMI Motorsports Park.

A Unique Autocross Experience

The event takes place on a one-of-a-kind course that winds through the old roval track and the newly paved infield, offering drivers a challenging and exciting layout. The atmosphere is welcoming and communal, with local enthusiasts coming out not only to watch but also to ride along with drivers. One highlight was UMI’s own “Green Machine,” a fully built Monte Carlo that tests all of UMI Performance’s G-body products. This car gave ride-alongs throughout the weekend, delighting fans and showcasing the capabilities of the platform.

A geometric design features two overlapping circles with rays emanating from one, accompanied by three smaller circles. Predominantly orange and purple colors are used.

The Emily Whitehead Foundation held a bake sale along with other raffles and prizes during the event. EWF supports pediatric cancer charities and other local causes.

Fierce Competition Across All Classes

While the atmosphere is relaxed and fun, the competition is anything but. Drivers across seven classes — Super Early, Early, Mid, Late, Super Late, Sport, and Truck — pushed themselves to their limits for top honors. Winners earned coveted first-place hats and, for some, a ticket to the elite King of the Mountain event, an invitation-only autocross competition featuring the fastest and most skilled drivers vying for $25,000 in prizes.
